Facial Acupuncture

Acupuncture has long been used to improve the flow of chi energy throughout the body. This vital energy moves along invisible energy lines called meridians.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, health problems occur as a result of blockages in the flow of chi. By inserting needles into specified points along meridian lines, acupuncturists can restore the flow of vital energy and improve well being.

Cosmetic acupuncture improves skin and has anti-aging results.

Facial acupuncture must be done in conjunction with full body acupuncture, so as to allow flow of energy throughout the body and not congestion in the face alone. On the face, the acupuncturist will insert 40 to 70 tiny and painless needles. As the needles puncture the skin, they create wounds within its threshold, which are called positive microtraumas. When your body senses these wounds, it goes into repair mode. This helps even out your complexion and promote your skin’s glow. The positive microtraumas also stimulates the production of collagen. This helps improve elasticity, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.
